Praising God

We gather each Sunday morning at 10:30 to thank God for our blessings, to care for each other and to find strength for our daily tasks. Worship is friendly, informal, and people of all ages are invited. Music is varied and contemporary.

Children join with adults at the beginning of worship; then gather with teachers for a fun and educational children's program. Children also participate occasionally as ushers, readers and helpers at Baptism. They teach us by their enthusiasm and sincerity.

Family services are held 6-8 times per year and children of all ages, except nursery, worship as part of the whole family of the church.

We celebrate the Sacrament of Infant Baptism 3-4 times per year and celebrate Communion on a monthly basis.

Adults become members of the church by Affirmation of Faith 3-4 times per year, and a Youth Confirmation is celebrated in the spring.

People sometimes request that Funerals or Memorial Services be held in the sanctuary.

Learning Together

Since people continue to learn and grow throughout their lives, we offer learning opportunities for all ages. For adults there are Bible study groups, evenings to explore contemporary issues, a yearly "Women's Day" and skill training courses in parenting, visiting and marriage preparation. When parents come with children for Baptism there is an opportunity to learn about the church and to meet other parents. Also adults wishing to join the church are invited to meet together with the minister for a question and answer evening about the church. For children there are youth, choir, confirmation and scouting activities.

Serving Others

We serve our community through our support for community agencies such as Community Care, Bethlehem Place, Women's Place and RAFT (Resource Action for Teens).

We care for the wider world through the Mission and Service Fund of the United Church of Canada, Sleeping Children Around the World, Foster Parents Plan and through support to an African Missionary.

We care about the environment through the Adopt-a-Road Program, caring for the beautiful church campus, and petition programs to environmental agencies.

We also serve by making space available for diverse groups including daycare, post- rehabilitation activities, badminton, scouting programs and many others.
